About the role

Lifeblood is seeking an experienced leader to take charge of a fast-paced, high-performing team in a clinical environment. What you’ll do:

  • Lead the quality, safety, and operational performance of blood donation and blood products.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop a large, diverse team (up to 50 employees), driving continuous improvement across key service performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Roster and deploy staff efficiently to meet donor attendance, skill mix, and operational demands.
  • Foster a safe, collaborative environment where employees can communicate openly, share ideas, and grow.
  • Be a change leader – clearly explaining the “why” and supporting your team through operational or process improvements.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Marketing and Regional Partnerships, to optimise donor panels and engagement.

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience managing large teams in operationally driven, customer- or clinical environments.
  • Hands-on, process-oriented operational leadership, with a strong track record of delivering results.
  • Skilled in people leadership, using empathy and human-centric approaches to drive team engagement and performance.
  • Passion for coaching and developing talent, identifying potential, and growing high-performing teams.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Highly committed to safety, quality, and compliance in a clinical setting.
  • Clinical experience is an advantage, but not essential.

If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy mentoring and leading teams, and want to make a direct impact on Australia’s blood supply, we’d love to hear from you.
