About the role
We are seeking an OrganMatch Application & Scientific Specialist to join the National OrganMatch Office, based in Sydney. You will play a critical role in the national coordination, development and ongoing enhancement of OrganMatch, a mission‑critical system supporting organ donation, matching, and transplantation across Australia.
You will work closely with tissue typing laboratories, clinical teams, ICT, vendors and national partners, providing expert advice, supporting system changes, delivering training, and helping to embed new processes nationally.
Key responsibilities
- Provide specialist scientific and clinical expertise to support OrganMatch nationally
- Lead and support system configuration, testing, validation and deployment activities
- Act as a key liaison between laboratories, clinicians, ICT teams, vendors and external stakeholders
- Support Agile delivery processes including sprint planning, backlog refinement and testing
- Develop, deliver and maintain training programs, work instructions and operational documentation
- Troubleshoot complex scientific, clinical and application issues
- Support national projects and system enhancements, including change and impact management
- Ensure compliance with quality, safety, regulatory and accreditation requirements (including NATA, ASHI and cGMP)

- Extensive experience as a subject matter expert in solid organ histocompatibility and immunogenetics
- Demonstrated understanding and experience in organ donation and transplant clinical programs or processes
- Experience supporting OrganMatch or comparable clinical applications
- A strong understanding of laboratory operations, including testing, reporting, quality systems and accreditation standards
- Strong capability in Microsoft Office applications
- Experience in system testing software applications , SQL database queries
- Experience with facilitating training and an excellent communicator across multiple stakeholder groups
