About the role  

 

The Research Assistant will contribute to research and support activities within Australian Red Cross Lifeblood (Lifeblood). 

The Research program includes several research groups, including:

  • Biostatistics & Epidemiology
  • Donor Research
  • Clinical Research and Cellular Therapies
  • Population Health
  • Product Development and Transfusion Studies
  • Strategy, Communication and Molecular Development

All research groups provide high quality scientific outcomes that support Lifeblood core activities and are internationally competitive. Depending on the particular research group, the Research Assistant role can be desk based (e.g., specialised literature searching, qualitative and quantitative data analysis), laboratory based (e.g., conduct and analysis of specialised technical procedures), or involve field work (e.g., collecting data in a donor centre).

 

Sound interesting? Here’s what we’re looking for: 

 

  • Honours degree or equivalent work experience in a relevant field.
  • Previous experience in a research role, in a related field.
  • Proficient in the analysis of technical, quantitative and/or qualitative data, as appropriate to the role, including familiarity with analytic and statistical software.
  • Ability to contribute to research projects, under the direction of Manager.
  • Commitment to research that can be translated into practical outcomes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience in communicating research outcomes.
