About the role   

We’re currently seeking a Session Leader to join our team at the Canberra Civic Plasma & Canberra Mobile Donor Centres. Reporting to the Donor Centre Manager, you’ll provide operational oversight and leadership to ensure that the end-to-end donation experience runs efficiently with no compromise on quality or safety.

As a Session Leader, you’ll provide direction, inspiration and support for your team to achieve common goals and foster team effectiveness, as well as managing tough issues with respect. You’ll value self-awareness and reflect on your own strengths and areas for development, making you an even stronger leader.

A day in the centre will see you:

• Develop, coach and lead a diverse team 
• Supporting the Donor Centre Manager with the day to day operations of the Donor & Mobile Donor Centres
• Deliver a supportive and safe experience to our amazing donor
• Physically insert and remove needles to collect donations
• Act as the first point of contact for any complex donor assessments
• Provide oversight to team to ensure phlebotomy success
• Show pride in upholding our high safety and quality standards

• Ability to prioritise and deliver the required supply of blood and blood products in line with demand
• Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to build a warm connection with donors
• Collaborative nature with a strong sense of teamwork to achieve shared goals
• Digital and technical aptitude
• Availability & flexibility to travel and work across a rotating roster with varied shifts and shift length (4 to 10 hours) across the Donor Centre opening times
