About the role
DonateLife Victoria (DLV) coordinates all organ donation across the state. A team of dedicated medical and nursing specialists work within Victorian hospitals to provide professional services and encourage best practice to increase organ and tissue donation rates. Staff at DLV also coordinate marketing and communications within the state, provide hospital and community education, and support for Victorian donor families.
The pilot of the Donation Conversation Specialist role is to utilise the skills and experience of an exceptional communicator to:

 


•    Support potential donor families in acute grief and bereavement
•    Offer organ and tissue donation to families in a collaborative environment
•    Formally consent donor families for organ and tissue donation 
•    Increase the consent of organ and tissue donation across Victoria 
 
Sound interesting? Here’s what we are looking for;
•    Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Nursing or similar
•    Extensive experience in communicating with families in acute grief and bereavement within a Healthcare setting
•    Expert communicator in the grief and bereavement space
•    Demonstrated ability to work independently and identify, assess and resolve problems with a solution focused mindset
•    Advanced negotiation skills and ability to communicate appropriately in time critical circumstances 
•    Intermediate level computer skills 
•    Hold a drivers licence and have the ability to travel to all Metropolitan Melbourne Health Services
 
This is a fixed-term full time opportunity until August 2026 working out of our Carlton, VIC, office + WFH.
