DonateLife Victoria (DLV), under the direction of Australian Organ and Tissue Authority, works to maximise access for Australians to organ and tissue donation and transplantation through the implementation of national strategies and best practices. DLV works directly with 20 Victorian hospitals to ensure Victorians are able to fulfil their wishes to donate, and that organ donation is an integral part of quality end-of-life care in Victoria. DLV is affiliated with the Australian Red Cross Lifeblood (Lifeblood).
About the role
The Internal Communications Officer works as part of the DonateLife Victoria (DLV) Marketing and Communications Team to support the DLV Network by providing tailored, timely and relevant communication. They will also raise awareness of organ and tissue donation in the community. This includes developing, implementing and evaluating strategic internal communications plans, under guidance from the Operations Manager. They will support the development and implementation of the DLV internal brand strategy, including producing documents such as an internal style guide.
This person will be responsible for managing the DLV Network's intranet (SharePoint), as well as managing newsletter content and all staff emails.
The Internal Communications Officer will work with donor families and recipients to share their stories and will manage these relationships in a sensitive and respectful manner. They will also work with hospital communication teams to develop tailored content for hospital communications channels.

- Qualification in communications, marketing, journalism or a related discipline
- Proven experience in a similar role
- Ability to build engagement with target audiences through a range of internal channels
- Highly developed written communication skills for a range of audiences and mediums
- Proven ability to translate complex information into plain English
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders
- Effective organisational, planning, time and management skills
- Experience using Microsoft SharePoint and an email marketing platform, such as Campaign Monitor.
- A good understanding of the Victorian health sector landscape would be highly advantageous
- Previous experience in a health, medical, science or educational environment desirable
This is fixed-term part-time opportunity covering parental leave until March 2026. DonateLife operates on a hybrid, flexible working model.
