About the role

Step into a rewarding  role as a Nursing Assistant, where you’ll bring your excellent customer-facing skills and a genuine passion for delivering exceptional service to our donors.

You’ll play a key role in supporting donors throughout their donation journey. No prior experience in blood collection is needed - full training is provided. All you need is the curiosity and motivation to learn the process of collecting blood and biological products.

 

A day in the centre could see you:

 

  • Greet and interview potential donors to assess their eligibility

  • Perform routine blood pressure and haemoglobin tests

  • Set up machines and collection equipment

  • Safely insert and remove needles to collect blood, plasma, or platelets

  • Monitor donors post-donation and assist with rebooking

  • Warmly welcome donors and assist with paperwork

  • Prepare and serve food and beverages at the refreshment bar

  • Work collaboratively to achieve daily collection targets

 

What you’ll need:

  • A passion for delivering an exceptional donor experience

  • Comfort working with needles, blood, and biological products

  • The ability to frequently stand, walk, and bend during your shift

  • Physical capability to lift items between 9–22.7kg

  • Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including weekends and afternoon shifts (Thursdays & Fridays are a requirement)

  • A positive attitude and strong team spirit

  • Willingness to complete our paid, flexible, self-paced training program (approx. 10 weeks full-time)
