About the role
The Project Research Officer will contribute to specialised research and support research project activities within the Australian Red Cross Lifeblood.

 

The Research Project Officer will assist senior researchers with initiation, planning, execution and closure of projects. This includes all research and operational activities required to deliver the research project as well as provide support for general Research & Development activities.

 

Sound interesting? Here’s what we are looking for;

  • Post graduate degree qualified or equivalent work experience in a relevant field.
  • 5+ years experience in a research role and with current laboratory experience.
  • Proficient in the analysis of technical, quantitative and/or qualitative data, as appropriate to the role, including familiarity with analytic and statistical software.
  • Previous experience supporting a research project.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience in communicating research outcomes.
  • Project skills, working with multiple stakeholders including ability to be well organised and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work successfully in a close knit team environment, as well as autonomously.
  • Expertise in transfusion science and/or cell biology including expertise in tissue culture of primary cells, cell lines and pluripotent stem cells. 
  • Expertise in utilising multiple core technologies for cellular analysis. 
  • Knowledge and / or experience in extracellular vesicle isolation and analysis techniques are desirable.
