About the Role
As the Senior Technician (Testing) at Lifeblood, you will play a pivotal role to aid in the sufficient and safe provision of blood, plasma and biological. You will monitor and oversee the Testing team's progress against production and work schedules, maintaining standard work processes and procedures. Your expertise and commitment to quality, safety, and regulatory requirements will be essential in this role. A day in this role would see you:
- Overseeing the Testing team's compliance with standard operating procedures
- Correcting deviations from standard work practices or the work schedule
- Perform sample investigations off-track and routine screening tests within agreed timeframes and in accordance with defined procedures.
- Reviewing and approving results of routine screening within agreed timeframes and escalating any anomalies according to procedure.
- Participating in continuous improvement, Lean, and Rapid Improvement Events (RIE) processes.
- Building others' capability through sharing knowledge, expertise, education, and training with team members.

- Minimum qualification of a Diploma in a related discipline is essential
- Demonstrated experience in providing workplace training and coaching to team members.
- Ability to perform standardised work processes within the Testing team within established procedures and agreed time frames.
- Demonstrated commitment to quality systems, quality control measures, and application.
- Experience in blood screening laboratory procedures, processes, and testing is desired but unnecessary.
The role will require you to work various shifts across a rotating roster:
- Mon-Sat 5am-midnight
- Sunday 5am-4pm
