About the role

As a Registered Nurse, you will bring your fantastic customer-facing skills and passion to deliver an exceptional service, while working together to ensure Australia’s supply of blood products.

A day in the centre could see you: 

• Greet and interview potential donors to understand their eligibility and suitability to donate
• Provide clinical oversight and guide other team members in the blood collection process
• Complete routine blood pressure and haemoglobin tests
• Set up machines and collections equipment
• Insert and remove needles safely to collect whole blood, plasma, and platelets
• Manage adverse donor reactions by providing instructions and physical assistance
• Monitor donors post-donation and assist them to rebook for their next donation

Our paid and flexible self-paced training program has a balance between on-the-job practice and online class schedules to ensure that you are well supported. 

Along with a genuine passion for delivering an exceptional donor experience, you'll bring:

• A warm, welcoming approach and the ability to build positive relationships with donors
• Strong customer service and/or patient-facing experience
• A commitment to supporting and contributing to a positive team culture
• A Bachelor of Nursing qualification and current AHPRA registration
• The ability to occasionally lift items weighing between 9–22.7kg
• The ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, and move equipment and blood products throughout your shift
• Flexibility to work a rotating roster across Monday to Sunday, including weekends and afternoon shifts
