About the role

We’re currently seeking a Session Leader to join our team at the Fremantle Donor Centre. Reporting to the Donor Centre Manager, you’ll provide operational oversight to ensure that the end-to-end donation experience runs efficiently with no compromise on quality or safety.

As a Session Leader, you’ll provide direction, inspiration and support for your team to achieve common goals and foster team effectiveness, as well as managing tough issues with respect. You’ll value self-awareness and reflect on your own strengths and areas for development, making you an even stronger leader. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Create a supportive and safe environment for our valued donors, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the donation process.

• Lead and coach teams, offering guidance to promote high performance and a positive team dynamic.

• Perform blood collection procedures, including the insertion and removal of needles, while adhering to strict safety and quality standards.

• Serve as the first point of contact for complex donor assessments, handling each case with professionalism and care.

• Provide clinical oversight to your team, sharing expertise to ensure successful phlebotomy practices and the highest standards of care.

• Take pride in maintaining our commitment to safety and quality in every aspect of the role.

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven leadership experience with a strong ability to coach and provide constructive performance feedback.

• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish a connection with both donors and team members.

• A strong background in customer service.

• A collaborative mindset with a focus on teamwork.

• Digital and technical proficiency to effectively navigate the tools and systems required for the role.

• Clinical experience is preferred, but not essential.
