About the role
We’re looking for an experienced Automation and Test Analyst to design, develop and maintain robust automation frameworks and testing strategies to deliver high-quality, reliable software that supports Lifeblood’s life-saving work.
Reporting to the Test Lead, you’ll join a supportive team of Software Automation Analysts, particularly in the areas of testing tools and testing automation, to enhance our testing tools, frameworks, and automation practices. This role provides high-level thought and technical leadership for test automation activities/processes, test automation tools, DevOps practices, and programming skills in at least one language such as JavaScript, TypeScript, .NET, Java, or Python.
You’ll also play a key role in guiding best practice, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating closely with Business Analysts, Validation and Application Specialists to plan and execute system testing. Together with business stakeholders, you’ll support user acceptance testing.

Sound interesting? Here’s what we’re looking for:
- 7+ years of experience in test automation.
- Skilled in designing scalable automation frameworks; hands-on experience with UFT and/or Playwright is essential along with API, and web services testing.
- Excellent programming skills in JavaScript/TypeScript, .NET, Java, or Python.
- Experienced in applying best practices in code quality with ESLint, Prettier, and similar tools.
- Proficient with Git, source control, branching strategies, and building and maintaining Azure DevOps pipelines and shared libraries.
- Experienced in integrating automation with Azure DevOps and test management tools such as OpenText ALM.
- Proven track record of mentoring junior engineers, promoting best practices, and influencing teams to contribute to learning and development initiatives.
- Strong understanding of DOM, CSS selectors, XPath, dynamic elements, iframes, and Shadow DOM.
- Experienced in testing REST and SOAP services using Postman, RestAssured, or similar tools.
- Skilled in validating API responses and handling common challenges in API automation.
- Knowledgeable in applying the Automation Testing Pyramid principles to ensure balanced test coverage across unit, integration, and UI levels.
- Strong SQL skills for data validation and exposure to AWS services.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and collaborative experience in Agile teams.
- Clear, effective communication and strong leadership qualities.
