Search suburb or city: West Melbourne, VIC, AU, 3003

Company: Australian Red Cross Lifeblood

  • Build the data foundations behind critical reporting and decision-making
  • Work with modern data platforms including SQL, Azure and Databricks
  • Permanent role, hybrid working, salary between 120-138k base + superannuation

About the role

We’re looking for a technical BI Developer who can build from the ground up; from data modelling and semantic layers through to high-quality Power BI dashboards. You’ll sit within our ICT Business Intelligence team and play a key role in strengthening how data is structured, modelled, delivered, and showcased across Lifeblood. You’ll work across data warehouses, SQL environments on modern cloud platforms, helping ensure our reporting is accurate, scalable and built on strong foundations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain semantic (tabular) models to enable simple, efficient report development
  • Work with SQL and data warehouse structures to curate and prepare data for reporting
  • Write efficient and scalable DAX and data queries
  • Design and build Power BI dashboards and reports that support business strategy and decision-making
  • Support and administer BI systems, including troubleshooting and maintenance
  • Provide documentation across data models, reports and processes
  • Collaborate within an Agile/Scrum delivery environment

Please note:  Our team participates in an on-call roster (1 week in 6) to ensure system reliability and performance

Sound interesting? Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • We’re specifically looking for someone with strong back-end BI capability, not just dashboard development
  • Proven experience in Power BI or Azure Analysis Services semantic modelling
  • Strong SQL skills, particularly working with structured data and data warehouses
  • Experience building data models, semantic layers and reporting foundations
  • Strong capability in DAX and performance optimisation
  • Ability to work with both technical teams and business stakeholders
