About the role

The Infrastructure/Cloud Engineer ensures Lifeblood’s hybrid IT infrastructure (both on-premise and cloud) meets the highest standards of availability, stability and security.

 

As part of the Infrastructure team, you’ll design, deploy, operate, automate, migrate and scale software systems across cloud and on-prem environments. You’ll apply expertise in security, networking, operating systems and SRE, using automation, Infrastructure-as-Code and CI/CD to solve complex challenges. You’ll also act as a trusted advisor, working with stakeholders and vendors, and championing the adoption of cloud and DevOps practices across Lifeblood.

 

The role demands a strong focus on security, best practice, code quality and continuous learning. You’ll work in an agile environment, exploring new technologies through proof-of-concepts, while helping shape Lifeblood’s technology roadmap.

 

Participation in an on-call roster is required to support critical cloud platforms outside business hours, with flexibility to take on other duties as needed.

  • 4+ Years Infrastructure Engineer
  • Experience in Windows and Linux OS systems
  • Experience in cloud/datacentre hybrid environments
  • Strong experience in AWS/Azure cloud platform services and networking
  • Provision and configure cloud-based resources to manage complex application environments
  • Experience in application migration to the Cloud, including IaaS, PaaS and SaaS solutions
  • Experienced with DevOps practices, specifically CI/CD and Infrastructure-as-Code
  • Experience in initial setup activities, including infrastructure, connectivity, security policies, configuration management and DevOps
  • Knowledge of security and IAM (Identity and Access Management)
  • Skills to implement and manage orchestration tools and automation of the full technical stack
  • Fluent in one or more of the following languages: Python, PowerShell, Bash
  • Demonstrated organisational skills, planning, and ability to exercise judgement to make decisions
  • Outcome focused, with strong emphasis on delivering high quality customer service
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

 

This is a 12-month fixed-term position rotating between WFH and one of our Processing Centres. We are flexible on location and are open to part-time for the right person. Lifeblood is proud to accommodate flexible working and we are open to conversations around what this means to you.
