About the role

We are seeking a Data and Analytics Lead (Transport) to play a key role in transport tender execution and data-driven decision making across our national logistics network. You will support the preparation and validation of tender data, pricing models, and commercial analysis, while developing BI reporting and insights to drive operational optimisation and financial performance.

Reporting to the Head of Network Optimisation, you will partner closely with logistics and commercial stakeholders to support end-to-end tender activities, ensuring robust data and scenario modelling underpin key decisions. In parallel, you will develop and enhance BI reporting, delivering accurate, consistent, and actionable insights that strengthen KPI governance and improve visibility across the Transport function.

A day in the role will see you:

  • Prepare tender data packs, analysis, and presentations for working groups and key decision forums.
  • Work closely with logistics stakeholders to validate pricing assumptions, operating scenarios, and cost models.
  • Provide clear commercial insights that directly inform tender pricing and strategic decisions.
  • Design and enhance BI dashboards and reporting to give the Transport function real-time, actionable visibility.
  • Turn complex data into concise, meaningful insights for senior leaders and operational teams.
  • Ensure reporting is consistent, accurate, and relevant across operational, financial, and executive audiences.
  • Champion best practice in analytics, reporting, and data governance across the logistics function.
  • Partner with operations teams to translate insights into measurable performance improvements.
  • Continuously refine reporting through better automation, usability, and visualisation standards.

Sound interesting? Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics, or equivalent experience in transport network design and operations.
  • Proficient in using business intelligence tools (such as Power BI) to create reports and generate actionable insights.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including expertise in modelling and scenario analysis.
  • Strong analytical abilities with experience interpreting both operational and commercial data, including transport KPIs, pricing structures, rate cards, and schedules to support tenders and bids.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing reports and dashboards, with the capacity to effectively communicate results to stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a proven ability to engage and collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Experience with TMS, ERP, or supply chain systems is highly advantageous.
