About the role

Reporting to the Head of Construction, the Design Manager leads Lifeblood’s national design and pre‑construction activities across the national donor centre network and respective lab spaces for capital works programs, ensuring design outputs are compliant, fit for purpose and aligned with internal Design guidelines, TGA and cGMP requirements.

You will lead the internal design team (2), manage external consultants, respective vendors, and maintain consistent design standards across Lifeblood’s property portfolio, working closely with internal stakeholders across Manufacturing, Donor Experience, Quality, ICT, HSW and Construction to deliver high‑quality built outcomes.

This is a hands‑on leadership role suited to an experienced design professional who thrives in complex operational environments and can balance strategic oversight with technical delivery.

  • Proven experience managing internal design teams, external consultants and vendors in complex projects
  • Qualifications or demonstrated capability in architecture with experience in CAD and / or Revit, design coordination or a related discipline
  • Strong knowledge of building compliance, planning approvals, BCA and council processes
  • Experience working within highly regulated environments (e.g. retail, laboratories, manufacturing, early education)
  • Capability in managing pre‑construction phases, budgets and capital expenditure reporting
