About the role
The core purpose of this role is to contribute to Lifeblood’s digital ecosystem by applying user-centred design principles to create intuitive, personalised experiences. As Lifeblood continues its digital transformation, this role will play a crucial part in addressing complex design challenges to enhance our customer experience.
This role will collaborate closely with the Head of Digital, Digital Experience Manager, other designers, Product Owners, and stakeholders across the organisation to implement strategies for our digital ecosystem, including our website, app, self-service portal, and more. With a proven track record in solving design problems, they will help shape Lifeblood’s digital platforms to provide a cohesive and consistent donor experience.
The Experience Designer will be hands-on with design, drawing from their experience in usability and accessibility standards to shape initiatives from concept to prototype, testing, and delivery. They will enhance Lifeblood’s user testing capabilities, enabling co-creation and agile learning to translate donor needs into first-class experiences. This role will support the digital strategy by working within a cross-functional team at every step of the design process, inspiring and guiding them through their expertise.
Sound interesting? Here’s what we are looking for;
- 3+ years’ experience working in digital design, experience and/or product teams.
- Proven experience across Design Thinking and Jobs-to-be-done frameworks.
- User testing experience using methodologies such as A/B testing, usability testing, tree testing etc to validate design decisions and gather feedback.
- User research experience using methodologies like interviews, data analysis, card sorting etc to understand user needs and behaviours.
- Passion and Curiosity for problem and solution exploration.
- Proficient with prototyping including paper prototyping/freehand sketching, wireframing and developing interactive prototypes using tools such as Figma, Sketch, InVision or Axure
- Confident with stakeholder engagement & working on multiple projects in parallel.
- Confident in presenting to and influencing stakeholders across an organisation
- Experience in facilitating workshops.
- Confident in working in Agile environments.
- Excellent visual design skills with empathy and sensitivity to user-system interaction.
- Proficiency in Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Sketch, or other visual design, prototyping and wire-framing tools.
This is a 12 month fixed-term, full-time opportunity with a hybrid working environment based out of our Melbourne Processing Centre. We may be open to candidates from other locations. Lifeblood is proud to accommodate flexible working and we are open to conversations around what this means to you.
