About the role

 

Lifeblood's Strategic Transformation & Readiness team is strengthening its capability across strategy, transformation and delivery to help Lifeblood optimise today and build for tomorrow - exploring new opportunities and creating lasting value for Lifeblood and the communities we serve. 

As our Data Analyst – Exploration, you’ll work across a portfolio of emerging opportunities, combining analytical rigour with curiosity to uncover insights, challenge assumptions and provide the evidence needed to support investment and innovation decisions.

You'll support all Exploration squads, providing analytical expertise wherever it can create the greatest value. A key focus will be preparing and assessing data for AI-readiness initiatives, helping determine whether opportunities have the data foundations necessary to move forward. You'll work closely with Product Leads, Product Owners, Research & Insights and broader ICT teams to understand complex business problems, analyse evidence and support decision-making across a diverse portfolio of innovation work.

 

What you’ll be doing 

 

  • Analyse operational, pilot, experimental and business data to uncover insights and opportunities.
  • Work across multiple squads and initiatives concurrently, providing analytical support where it is most needed.
  • Extract, clean and manipulate data from complex, multi-source environments.
  • Build dashboards, visualisations and evidence packs that support governance and decision-making.
  • Apply statistical methods to experiments, pilots and trials, including confidence intervals, significance testing and sample size considerations.
  • Assess data quality, data readiness and data architecture to determine whether AI opportunities are viable.
  • Support AI value-chain diagnostics by identifying where data-rich opportunities exist and where data limitations create risk.
  • Partner with ICT and data platform teams to understand existing data infrastructure and identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Strong analytical capability with the ability to interpret data and translate findings into practical recommendations.
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience working with large, complex datasets.
  • Experience with modern data platforms such as Azure Databricks and cloud-based data environments.
  • Experience sourcing and manipulating data across multiple systems and platforms.
  • Strong data visualisation capability using tools such as Power BI.
  • Experience supporting AI, machine learning or intelligent systems initiatives.
  • Experience assessing data readiness for AI use cases
  • Understanding of statistical concepts relevant to experimentation and pilot design.
  • Knowledge of data quality, data readiness and data architecture concepts.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical findings to diverse audiences.
