Facilities Maintenance Specialist

• Permanent role with hybrid working. Salary between 130-140k base + superannuation

About the role

We’re looking for a Facilities Maintenance Specialist to deliver facilities maintenance services across Lifeblood’s donor centres and processing centres, with a strong focus on vendor management, contract performance and service improvement. The role has a particular focus on soft services (cleaning, waste, pest), while also supporting and growing capability across hard services (HVAC, fire and electrical).

This is a hands-on, operational role where you’ll balance day-to-day service delivery with longer-term process improvement; helping our stakeholders have great experiences with more consistent, scalable and effective systems. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage national facilities maintenance contracts and vendors, ensuring KPIs are met and services are delivered consistently
• Oversee service delivery across donor centres and processing sites nationally
• Manage vendor contracts and lead their performance reviews, reporting and governance (monthly/quarterly cadence)
• Engage in tender activities for renewal of existing contracts or establishment of new contracts
• Act as a key escalation point for service issues, disputes and operational challenges
• Partner with stakeholders across the business to ensure safe, compliant and fit-for-purpose facilities services
• Identify and implement process improvements to modernise facilities management practices
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety and regulatory requirements, including audit readiness

• Experience in facilities, asset or contract management across multi-site environments
• Strong background managing soft services (cleaning, waste, pest), with exposure to or interest in hard services (HVAC, fire, electrical)
• Proven experience managing vendors and complex national contracts
• Ability to influence and engage stakeholders across a broad, complex organisation
• Experience leading procurement, tendering and contract lifecycle activities
• Strong analytical capability with experience reviewing performance, reporting and driving improvements
• Comfortable working in environments undergoing change and transformation
• Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
