About the role

As our Head of Construction, you’ll lead a passionate team dedicated to shaping and maintaining a property network that supports everything we do.
You’ll bring your construction expertise and leadership to life by guiding refurbishment, relocation, and development projects across the country ensuring every space we create is safe, consistent, and built for the future.
Collaboration is at the heart of this role. You’ll work closely with business units across Lifeblood to deliver projects that are flexible, compliant, and aligned with our evolving needs, all while upholding our TGA licence requirements.
You’ll also partner with architects, builders, and consultants to challenge the status quo. You’ll seek smarter, safer, and more sustainable ways to build and improve our environments. With your strategic insight and operational know-how, you’ll help Lifeblood deliver spaces that inspire confidence, care, and connection.
Sound interesting? Here’s what we are looking for;
- Proven experience managing medium-scale construction fit-out projects ($3M+).
- Strong background in capital expenditure planning and business case preparation.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage project managers across multiple fit-out and refurbishment programs.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a design team and work with architects, engineers and external design consultants.
- Excellent relationship management skills with internal stakeholders, contractors, consultants, and subcontractors.
- High-level management, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail in project planning, documentation, and reporting.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational abilities, with capacity to manage competing priorities under pressure.
- Adaptability to changing priorities and new initiatives.
- Advanced computer literacy and written communication skills.
- Relevant degree or professional qualification (or equivalent experience) in Construction or a related discipline.
This is a permanent position rotating between WFH and one of our Processing Centres. We have a preference for Melbourne based candidates but would be open to other locations within Australia for the right person.
