- Bachelor’s degree level qualifications in communications, journalism or public relations or professional experience in these fields
- A demonstrated understanding of the fundamentals of communications and corporate affairs, including media relations, stakeholder communications, communications governance, media release writing, media planning and story pitching.
- Experience filming and editing news-style content
- A good news sense and a keen consumer of a variety of news outlets
- Good time management, planning and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
- A mature approach and understanding of the sensitivities of Lifeblood’s work, including the privacy of donors, recipients, and their families.
- Ability to develop new media contacts and stakeholder relationships
- Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to tailor content for multiple channels
- Excellent verbal communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
