About the role
Lifeblood's Strategic Transformation & Readiness team is strengthening its capability across strategy, transformation and delivery to help Lifeblood optimise today and build for tomorrow - exploring new opportunities and creating lasting value for Lifeblood and the communities we serve.
As the Senior Design Lead – Exploration, you'll be the design authority across our Exploration portfolio, partnering with Product Leads, Product Owners, researchers and stakeholders to help determine what problems are worth solving, and how we test whether a solution will work. We're looking for a full-stack design leader who is equally comfortable working across facilitating problem-framing workshops, synthesising UX and UI research insights, and building prototypes and testing ideas with users. You'll also provide day-to-day direction to UX interns and support the broader team's design capability through mentoring, coaching and establishing high design standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead design across multiple exploration squads, supporting initiatives at different stages of maturity
- Translate research findings into actionable design direction and clear recommendations
- Design and build prototypes ranging from low-fidelity concepts through to near-production experiences
- Plan and support user testing activities, using evidence to refine and improve concepts
- Create journey maps, service blueprints, wireframes and other design artefacts that support decision-making
- Partner closely with Product Leads, Product Owners and Research & Insights specialists to shape opportunities and validate concepts
- Provide direction, coaching and feedback to UX interns and external design partners
- Champion human-centred design and continuous improvement across the Exploration portfolio
- Help establish design standards, practices and ways of working that elevate the work of the whole team
Sound interesting? Here’s what we’re looking for:
- Proven experience across service design, UX, UI, user research, prototype development and testing
- Strong capability in research synthesis and turning insights into practical design outcomes
- Experience creating and testing prototypes to validate concepts and inform decisions
- Proficiency with modern design tools such as Figma, Miro and other collaborative design platforms
- Experience facilitating workshops, problem framing and ideation activities
- Ability to work across multiple initiatives simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to explain design decisions to non-design audiences
- Experience mentoring junior designers, graduates, interns or consultants
- A highly collaborative mindset and genuine curiosity about how people experience products and services
