About the role  

The Head of Training - Donor Experience is responsible for leading a large team to enable the delivery, and continuous improvement of training programs that ensure workforce capability, compliance, and excellence across the Donor Experience function. This role oversees the full training lifecycle from induction and onboarding of new starters, to annual competency assessments and refresher training,  ensuring alignment with clinical, GMP, HSE, and customer-centric standards.

 

Working in close partnership with the central Learning & Development team, the role ensures that enterprise learning strategies, frameworks, and design principles are effectively applied within Donor Experience to meet operational and regulatory needs. Key responsibilities of the team include ownership and development of training content and documentation, delivery of classroom and practical training, and integration of learning initiatives such as the Excellence in Collections and Eligibility programs, Donor Centre Manager and Session Leader Essentials.

 

The role is a key partner in  supporting the implementation of the Future of Learning strategy for Donor Experience and we are looking for someone with demonstrated experience leading large teams. People leadership experience is essential as this role is responsible for a team of 30+ people.

 

The role ensures network-wide competency, and supports critical skill areas including de-escalation, CPR, and First Aid.

  • Proven experience leading large, diverse training teams
  • Ability to design and implement training strategies aligned with organisational goals across a large and geographically diverse business unit
  • Solid knowledge of contemporary, evidence-based learning & development practices and learning theory, with proven ability to turn these into practice in an organisational environment
  • Experience working with a broad range of stakeholders
  • Expertise in developing modular, blended learning programs using digital tools (e.g., AR/VR, interactive content) would be highly advantageous
  • Ability to build and manage annual competency assessments, refresher training, and credentialing pathways
  • Ownership of training documentation, and learning records, ensuring compliance with GMP, HSE, and clinical standards
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate training effectiveness and inform continuous improvement
  • Ability to work with clinical, operational, and quality teams to ensure training meets business and regulatory needs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage learners, leaders, and external partners 

  

This is a 12 month fixed-term full-time opportunity with a hybrid work model rotating between WFH and one of our processing centres. For the right person, there may be a possibility for this role to become ongoing. We are open to candidates from different locations within Australia.
